What Do Ruiji RJ Intelligent Actuator Alarm Codes F-05 to F-15 Mean?

source:    date:2026-10-04

When the alarm zone of a Ruiji RJ intelligent electric actuator shows a F-05 to F-15 code, match it against four groups: signal alarms (F-05 lost 4-20mA signal, F-06 simultaneous open/close signals, F-13 phase loss), ESD alarms (F-08 closing, F-09 opening, F-10 ESD signal still present), torque alarms (F-11 closing over-torque, F-12 opening over-torque), and position alarms (F-07 internal position error, F-14/F-15 no position change detected while closing/opening). Over-torque alarms clear by moving a short distance in the opposite direction, resetting the torque value, or re-powering; "no position change" alarms set a direction inhibit that must be cleared by reset. The full code table and the RJ wiring diagram are below.

2. How to read the four alarm groups

2.1 Signal alarms (F-05/F-06/F-13): check external signals first

F-05 (lost signal) is the most common: when the 4-20mA command signal is lost, the actuator does not simply stop — it moves according to the preset "signal-loss action" (item 7 of the working settings), while the monitor relay drops out to tell the control system. F-06 means remote open and close commands arrive together, pointing to a miswired or disturbed signal loop. F-13 is phase loss detected through the position sensor, stopping the motor to protect it.

2.2 ESD alarms (F-08/F-09/F-10): safety interlock comes first

F-08 and F-09 are status indications — an ESD close/open stroke is in progress — not faults. F-10 deserves attention: as long as the ESD signal remains, any other electrical operation, local or remote, is ineffective. This is intentional safety interlocking; withdraw the ESD signal before attempting any other operation.

2.3 Torque alarms (F-11/F-12): three ways to clear

After an over-torque trip the motor stops and a direction-inhibit flag is set. Any one of three actions clears it: move a short distance in the opposite direction; re-set the over-torque protection value for that direction; or re-power the actuator. If over-torque recurs frequently, check for a jammed valve or a torque setting set too low — do not just reset and force it.

2.4 Position alarms (F-07/F-14/F-15): mechanical and potentiometer causes

F-07 is an internal position-sensing error that auto-resets after about one second — occasional occurrences can be observed; frequent ones warrant checking the position feedback circuit. F-14/F-15 ("running but no position change") points to three possibilities: a blocked valve, the electric clutch not engaged (manual/electric changeover incomplete), or a faulty position potentiometer. After ruling out mechanical causes, check the potentiometer and counting mechanism. These alarms also de-energize the monitor relay and inhibit the affected direction until reset.

Summary

  • Four groups: signal (F-05/06/13), ESD (F-08/09/10), torque (F-11/12), position (F-07/14/15) — first tell status indications from protective trips;
  • Two safety behaviors: with F-10 the ESD signal blocks all electrical operation; with F-05 the actuator carries out its preset signal-loss action automatically;
  • Two clearing rules: over-torque (F-11/12) clears by back-off, re-set or re-power; "no position change" (F-14/15) requires a reset before the direction works again.
