Bottom line: for first commissioning of a SIPOS 5 Flash, wire the 220 VAC supply and the two 4–20 mA loops, then enter the Commissioning menu with password 9044 to set rotation directions, seating mode and torque values; the typical setting is torque-dependent closing (tight shut-off) with travel-dependent opening (smooth travel), open torque one grade above close torque. The first end-position auto-adjust is complete when "adjustment OK!" appears; "increase it!"/"decrease it!" means re-set after changing the signal-gear ratio.
A. First wiring and the operating panel
Complete the cable connections first: 220 V AC power cable, 4–20 mA control cable and 4–20 mA feedback cable. The local operating panel uses non-contact magnetic buttons, improving sealing and operability. Through the LCD behind the transparent window you switch local/remote operation, make adjustments and diagnose faults.
B. First power-up and end-position setting
After power-up the main menu offers: Language setting, Commissioning, Observing and Diagnosis.
| Main menu item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Language setting | Language selection |
| Commissioning | Password "9044" unlocks the parameter level: rotation directions, seating mode, torque values |
| Observing | Observation |
| Diagnosis | Self-diagnosis: follow the prompts; re-do end-position setting after clearing faults |
For the first adjustment use PIN "9044" to enter Commissioning at the parameter-change level, then set the rotation direction, cut-off mode and torque values. Usually, for tight seating the close position is set torque-dependent and the open position travel-dependent; for smooth opening the opening torque should be one step higher than the closing torque.
| Position | Recommended seating mode | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Close | torque-dependent | Ensures tight shut-off |
| Open | travel-dependent | Smooth travel; open torque one grade above close torque |
First end-position setting: move the valve to full open by hand, or hold the OPEN button on the local panel for two seconds — the actuator runs open "until TL reached"; jog the CLOSE button to confirm the full-open position. Adjust the signal gear unit until the deviation reads 0.
| Step | Action | Display & handling |
|---|---|---|
| Open end | Manually position full-open, or hold the OPEN button for 2 s until "until TL reached"; jog CLOSE to confirm | Adjust the signal gear unit so deviation = 0 |
| Close end | Hold the CLOSE button for 2 s until "until TL reached" (torque-seated) | "adapting cl.pos.-busy!" — wait; "adjustment OK!" = done; "increase it!"/"decrease it!" = change the signal gear ratio and re-set |
Hold the CLOSE button for two seconds — the actuator runs closed "until TL reached". As closing is set to torque-dependent mode, the display shows "adapting cl.pos. - busy!"; after a few seconds "adjustment OK!" means first commissioning is complete. If "increase it!" or "decrease it!" appears, change the signal gear unit ratio one step and repeat the setting.
C. Fault self-diagnosis
If a fault occurs, enter the self-diagnosis menu and follow the fault messages. Once the fault is cleared, the end positions can be set again.
