Overview: ABB's ONTRAC intelligent actuators lead the world in reliability and positioning accuracy. The ONTRAC MME800 modulating series positions in under 5 s, delivers high torque and adapts well, with excellent mechanical and motor control characteristics. Advanced microprocessor technology and communication interfaces connect to PC or DCS over standard HART or Profibus, accepting analogue or digital commands. Via the control panel the user configures parameters, functions, actuator actions and remote monitoring to match the valve's optimum control characteristics.

Main features:

1. Motor-slip measurement monitors output load, replacing disc-spring assemblies and other pressure sensors: mechanical torque adjustment and torque switches are eliminated, and the microprocessor makes the torque protection value freely adjustable to site conditions.
2. Hall sensors count electromagnetic pulses for travel position, replacing gear counters, potentiometers and limit switches — contactless, wear-free, high resolution, long life, strong interference immunity. Displacement, speed and direction are all measured, allowing the microprocessor to define working windows and change speeds at will.
3. Variable-frequency control adjusts speed output easily; output torque is unaffected by frequency or voltage changes.
4. Output speed and torque protection are independently adjustable in both directions — different open/close speeds and geared positioning greatly extend valve life.
5. Manual priority: whether running or at rest, the handwheel always engages reliably for manual operation.
