For valve-drive equipment in nuclear power plants, the bar is entirely different from conventional products. YEPEF carries more than 30 years of actuator design and manufacturing experience and was among the first enterprises to obtain the National Nuclear Safety Administration's "civilian nuclear-safety electrical equipment design/manufacturing license." Its Class 1E K1/K2/K3 nuclear-grade electric and pneumatic actuators form one of the few fully licensed nuclear-grade actuator lines in China — the signature line that sets this China Energy Engineering Group company apart from ordinary domestic makers.

What are K1, K2, and K3? They are nuclear-safety classes defined by installation location and functional requirements: Class K1 units are installed inside the reactor containment and must perform their function under normal conditions, safe-shutdown-earthquake loads, during and after accident conditions; Class K2 units are installed inside the containment and perform under normal conditions and SSE loads; Class K3 units are installed outside the containment and perform under normal conditions and SSE loads. The higher the class, the stricter the seismic, irradiation, accident-environment, and qualification-test requirements.

Behind the nuclear-grade products stands system capability: beyond the nuclear-safety license, YEPEF holds SIL 2/3 functional-safety certification and participates in standardization as a member of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee. Besides nuclear-grade electric actuators, YEPEF also offers nuclear-grade pneumatic actuators, covering both major drive types of nuclear-plant valves.
